Classic Showbags
The Showbag is an icon of the Sydney Royal Easter Show. You can see it in the smiling faces of families at the Show and the anticipatory glances of children on their way to the Show. It is no wonder as the Showbag has been around for almost as long as the Show itself.
The Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales have kept meticulous records of Classic Showbags and it is a joy, as the Show Insider, to bring you some of these blasts from the past. They bring a smile to my face and I hope you enjoy them.
Do you have any memories of these in your family? We would love to hear about them.

Well I remember the showbages I used to go home on the bus with the bags pilled from my elbow to my hand on both arms. Then eat chocolate and lollies for days.

The showbags were great when I was a child, so full of goodies especially the Bigger Boy licorice bag which was full of different types of licorice. I suffered later from eating too much of it.
